Kalimpong is a village situated in the Darjeeling district of Indian state West-Bengal and renowned hill station in eastern zone of India. It is emerging as an ultimate holiday destination in the Eastern Himalayas. It is covered with forests and terraced agricultural land. Morgan House is located in Kalimpong, a small hill station in West Bengal. Which was built in 1930 by George Morgan? Which is currently maintained by the Tourism Department of West Bengal? This property was also known as Singamari Tourist Lodge or Darpin Tourist Lodge. Morgan is a beautiful historic building, spread over an area of about 16 acres on the mountain of Darpin. Kalimpong lives just three km from here. Learn more interesting things related to Morgan House. The mysterious history of Morgan House is linked to a British industrialist who once lived here. He was so impressed by the hill here that he thought of building a building here. But he had no idea that he is inviting his last days as well as that of his wife. This building has hosted big parties for a long time. Artists to big leaders have also come here. Morgan House has passed through many lips. After the death of George Morgan and his wife, the building went under the supervision of the trustees as Morgan had no heirs. Since the Trustees, this building has come under the Government of India. After which the journey of this building continued under the tourism department of India and finally it came under the supervision of the tourism department of West Bengal. Morgan House’s horror story begins after the mysterious death of George Morgan’s wife (Lady Morgan). After which Morgan also died. There is no precise evidence as to how Lady Morgan died. It is believed that even today, the soul of Lady Morgan wanders in this building. Many tourists who have come to stay here have complained that there are strange sounds and scary experiences at night. If you want to enjoy the adventure with a little mystery, then definitely stay here one night. You can reach Morgan House via all three routes. The nearest airport is Siliguri Airport, from where you can reach Morgan House via private taxi. For the rail route you can resort to the New Jalpaiguri railway station, which is located at a distance of about 73 km from here. If you wish, Morgan House can also be reached via roadways. Kalimpong is well connected to major cities in the state by improved roadways.
